Sunsets and Silencers publishes short fiction, flash fiction, creative non-fiction, poetry, essays, paintings, photography, and comic strips as a platform for emerging and established artists to showcase their work. The online journal is a subsidary of Nexus print, a biannual literary, cultural, and art magazine published by NexusCreative, a non-profit public benefit organization interested in opening new and exciting channels for creative expression.
Our hope at Sunsets and Silencers is to give exposure to art that can move us, take our breath away, or enrich our lives in some way. We want works that entertain us, make us laugh, move us to tears, that communicate or even propagandize, that heal our wounds or rip them open -- work that is thoughtful, fun, and smart, where the artist is forced to work with relationships, and not just blunt analysis -- art that works to soften our natures by allowing us to stand in grey areas, connect our sympathies to a larger consciousness, and thus, make us more aware of our own existence, our being.
